Lukgraph 1:32 resin (cast and printed)
A lot of faffing about compared to a styrene kit. Resin parts suffered with surface printing ridges. Cast parts warped and thick. The engine was particularly poor until I was sent a newer improved resolution print.
Fuselage cast resin halves were very poor but, the replacement printed halves were a vast improvement.

  1. Very neat build David, congratulations!

  2. Awesome job, David!

  3. Looks magnificent! Love how the roundel shows through the fabric of the top wing.

  4. The poor old B.E.,"inherent stability" so it had difficulty getting out of its own way, with the gunner in the wrong seat. These were a good half of the "Bloody Red Baron's" 80 victories.

Really good work on this and a very realistic result.

  5. WOW, a dream! This is a stunning result, every picture of this piece of gem is a delight! Congratulations on this masterful work!

  6. Gorgeous, what an incredible build. Together with the diorama it looks amazing!

  7. Ahh my favourite WW 1 scout plane!

As TC said, the gunner in the wrong seat, but this was totally in line with British arrogance at the time. The scout was an officer and could not be seated behind the pilot no matter how much more practical this was. The pilot was just a bus driver. Watch the old British TV series Wings for some great drama on this topic https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Wings_(1977_TV_series)

  8. All around, STELLAR !

  9. Everywhere you look there's another detail to admire. Fabulous job on this birdcage.
"Faffing" about"? Variation on the F word?

  10. Excellent work.

  11. c'est magnifique

I had to use French. English doesn't do this beautiful model justice. To use baseball terminology, "this one knocked it out of the park."

  12. Well, I'll be damned, if that isn't a fantastic scale model, and NOT the real thing! 😁 David, if your dental work is a great as your scale modeling efforts, then you must have the most satisfied patients in all of Old Blighty. 😉 That model looks as though one could just climb in and take off! @mentaldental, that is another magnificent model! 👏

  13. This is absolutely fantastic, David @mentaldental
So much realism with all the wiring and linen look.
    The diorama is also beautiful.

  14. I'm happy you've all enjoyed this one...makes the swearing all the more worth it!

    Amazing!

  16. Beautiful model, David.

  17. Spectacular build - incredible detail. I especially like the translucent look on the wing fabric, the ribs and roundel showing through.

  18. It's all been said above - what a beauty! The translucent wings are amazing.

  19. I will never achieve such a realistic performance. Amazing work. I love your models.

  20. I completely agree with all of the above comments, especially the ones remarking on the translucent nature of the wings, and the shadow of the roundel on the top wing showing through underneath.

I have a kit I'd like to do something similar with. I saw a painting of it online and the artist, like yourself David, captured that same translucence. I may have to start practicing as that's not an easy finish to effect, but you managed it beautifully - very well done.
