Eduard F-104C StarFighter "The Zipper" 1/48
Just completed this Eduard F-104C StarFighter “The Zipper” for a Vietnam group build on Instagram.
This kit was a huge change of pace for me as I usually build WW2 prop aircraft. Definitely got me interested in doing another jet soon!
Aftermarket items used:
Quinta Studio Interior 3D decal set
Quinta Studio 3D Ejection Set decal set
Eduard Brassin Exhaust Nozzle
QuickBoost F.O.D
Eduard "Remove Before Flight" 3D decal set
Included goodies in the kit:
Eduard Brassin Wheels
Eduard Brassin Ejection seat
Eduard Detail set
This kit uses the sprues from the Kinetic set. The plastic was overall good minus a few bad injection marks that had to be fixed.

One mistake I made was my choice in the tail, underwing, and front nozzle color. I had originally thought it should have been more grey and less brown than what I had went with. I was pretty bummed out until I found a few images online of F-104C with very similar looking color to mine. Since I found references that look like what I did, I am much happier now.
Hope you like it!
Great looking "missile with a man in it"! 👏 Fantastic result, Keith @greenterrorz! 🤩
Thank you Gary!
Great build & finish. High degree of realism.
Thank you Bob
That is a great looking build of the 104. Way to go.
Thank you David
Superb Zipper!
Thank you Dan
An impressive result, Keith @greenterrorz
At first I thought it was a real one with those 'remove before flight' labels.
Great pictures as well.
Appreciate that John
Beautiful job, Keith. Great detailing with all the minute stenciling decals you applied, plus the remove before flight tags make it look very dynamic and lifelike. How did you do the metal finish?
Thank you Colin. I used Alclad metal colors. Specifically Alclad Black Gloss primer -> Alclad white aluminum -> Alclad Aqua Gloss
This is damn near perfect Keith @greenterrorz. Incredible.
Thank you Felix
Absolutely beautiful job Keith! What paint did you use for the metal surfaces?
Excellent work and a terrific result.
Thank you Tom!
Great looking 104 Keith. Is the tail section ADC gray?
The tail should be more grey and less brown than what I did to match better with ADC grey.
Luckily I found examples where the ADC was faded and had a brown hint to it similar to my build -
Keith, I always enjoy seeing a nice-looking F-104, especially when they look this good.
Nothing looks more like the definition of speed than an F-104 !
Awesome build!
All the add ones really help bring this terrific build to life. Great work.
Really nice work, Keith (@greenterrorz). My first assignment in the Air Force was the training base for NATO F-104 pilots, and I can vouch that you have really captured the look of the real thing.
Excellent job and fantastic result, Keith!
Great build of the 104 Keith with excellent pictures to show it off. Perfect.
