P-39Q-1 "Devastating Devil" (Arma Hobby 1/48)

November 2, 2024 · in Aviation · · 12 · 126

The latest kit from Arma Hobby in 1/48 scale – P-39Q which follows their 1/72 Cobra's line. The kit was released in July this year, so it's quite fresh.

I've decided to build the model in a very attractive and unusual camouflage scheme of the 46th FS, Gilbert Islands, Pacific. Cobra in Coral Sand looks interesting.

WIP thread is here – https://imodeler.com/groups/work-in-progress-aircraft/forum/topic/p-39q-arma-hobby-1-48/

Dmitry, that’s a stunning Airacobra! I was unaware of you wip thread so this took me by surprise. Beautiful work in all regards, Arma should use your pics to advertise this kit πŸ˜‰

  2. Fantastic P-39, Dmitry @starfar! 🀩 I like that sand color a lot, too. Good choice and a great result here! πŸ‘

  3. Sharp job. Love the look of this model in this scheme. Well done!

  4. Wow. Great work on a very unique plane. Your panel lines are amazing. I never get them to come out that sharp. Very nice color choice.

    • Thank you, Mark! Regarding the panel lines - I think it depends on a kit. In this case the panel lines are sharp and deep enough to keep the wash. And also, I use AMMO oil brushers as a wash - the are stronger than regular oils.

  5. What a fantastic result, Dmitry @starfar
