2024 Model Builds
I completed 18 builds in 2024. They consisted of ten aircraft, two tanks, two ships, one boat, one truck, one missile, and one car.
The year started with a lot of aircraft - two SBD Dauntlesses, four TBD Devastators, three IJN aircraft, and a WW I SPAD.
I'm trying to build significant equipment of the war in WW II, and added a U.S. 2 1/2 ton truck and PT boat, and a German V-2 rocket.
The year's major builds were the two 1/700 Lexington CV-2 models showing the carrier's appearance before and after its final refit, a 1/35 scale Tiger 131 with detailed interior, and a 1/25 1968 Aurora Chitty Chitty Bang Bang.
The two major builds that didn't quite get over the line before the end of the year were the 1/700 1952 Bon Homme Richard, and the AMT Star Trek Enterprise bridge. I'm optimistic I'll get them done soon so I can get to work on smaller projects - ships, aircraft, and armor.
Nice model builds there. For a moment I was wondering what the flying car was and thought it was the Chitty Chitty Bang Bang but didn't realize someone actually made a model of it.
Quite a collection. My sentimental favorite is the Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang model. For me, the limiting factor with building models is space to display them. I'd hate to box them up in storage once they're built.
Love the whole collection, just the sort of things I would build if I had space. Excellent modelling year for you!
Congratulations, Michael! Another productive year, full if excellent models!
Your modelling year was very successful, Michael @mcsmith1964
Lots of beautiful builds.
Great collection and a big flash back to when the movie Chitty-Chitty-Bang-Bang first played in the movie theaters. Very nice work on your selections of different subjects.
Good stuff!

Nice work on all those. Not too many Chitty Chitty Bang Bangs seen here on imodeler.
Productive year! I don't think I've ever completed that many builds in a year. I'm an aircraft fan, but love Chitty as well - brings back fond memories!
Outstanding results across all genres...Well done, Michael.
