Here's one I made earlier
This is one of my older models and in response to capt. R(@lis)'s request here are some photos of my Airfix 1/72 Blenheim Mk. 1. I've always been fascinated by the Blenheim Mk. 1 particularly the nose shape so I was excited to buy the Airfix kit. Of course, being me I wanted to make a very early Blenheim; in this case an aircraft with the oval windows (which disappeared around K7050). This necessitated carving and adapting the glazing with an overlay. I chose the sixth production Blenheim built K-7038 of No. 114 Squadron based at Usworth in Durham. K-7038 enjoyed an uneventful and short career, joining the squadron on 4th March 1937 and becoming a maintenance airframe on 17th December the same year. I was able to reconstruct an accurate set of markings from Flight International photos particularly the correct size and positioning of the underwing serials. The individual aircraft letter ('D') was found in the spares box. Other decals were Airfix and Xtradecals. Paint was Tamiya. I super detailed the interior (not that this can be seen) and added Eduard etched brass interior and exterior sets, SBS engine details and my own adaptions. The kit was a very pleasant build - the nose glazing is best attached individually to each side before the fuselage is sealed otherwise I encountered no real issues.
Excellent result, Christopher!
Thanks ever so much Spiros
Your Blenheim looks pritty good! Especially canopy frames. Did you made scratch rails for opening section of canopy?
Thanks ever so much capt. R. Yes the rails were scratch built using 0.3 mm square strip.
Looks really good. Since you say it was a pleasant build, I’m guessing it’s one of the newer Airfix kits.
Many thanks indeed Jay. Yes this is one of the newer kits - they also redid the Blenheim IV from the same molds.
Wow, a great build of the Blenheim kit! Lovely pre-war scheme!
Many, many thanks Felix - much appreciated. I do like the pre-war schemes.
A wonderful Blenheim, Christopher @christopher
The Blenheim Mk.I is indeed the most beautiful variant.
Thanks ever so much for the kind comments John @johnnb. I agree totally - it has a certain quality to it.
Nicely done Christopher, I have the Mk 4 to do as it was used by RAAF Sqn's 454 and 459 !

Many thanks Allan - I found the kit to be a fun build and I hope you do to. The Mk. 4 kit is very similar to the Mk. 1 (just a difference of noses).
Great work, Christopher. Nicely done.
Thanks ever so kindly George.
Another nice looking Blenheim! Well done.
Thanks ever so much Greg - much appreciated.
