It took a long wait until I found a model without (horrendous) shipping costs. By far, my favorite Monogram model. It just looks grand like the real aircraft.
If you'd like to restore that model to it's original glory, Rafi, it's easy to do. Get two spray bottles and clean them out. fill both with tap water. Then put dish soap in one, without stirring up bubbles. Spray the model with the soapy water, then rinse with the other bottle. "mop up" with toilet paper and then allow it air dry and - voila! - back to what you said "yeah!" to the first time you saw it completed. And nothing knocked off in the process.
Great result, Rafi! That is an awesome kit. I built one over 30 years ago for a former B-29 flight engineer. I had a second one that I sold a few years back because storage space is an issue.
How big would one of these be in 1/32 scale? She looks great, nice job.
I took a video of "FIFI", which I believe is the last flyable B-29, passing over the Washington Monument in DC back in 2015. You can checkout the video here: https://youtu.be/qqOk13E9GLw?si=YdEr4I5kyENnq0T0.
Great execution Rafi. The B-29 is big even in 1/72 scale, but your Monogram 1/48 must clock in at 35-1/4 inches for the wingspan! I did the math on Greg’s question and came up with a fifty-three inch wingspan. I too saw Fifi flying back in the ‘80s. I believe the crowd restraining fence line was a little too close to the taxi way because after she landed and turned to go back to her designated area, as I had my face pressed into the viewfinder of my camera, I found myself in the shadow of the left wing. Later on my way home on the expressway in my T-roof Mustang, I once again found myself in the shadow. Whether it was Fifi’s or Diamond Lil flying in formation with her on their way home or their next venue it made for an amazing sight. Thanks for posting this massive work.
Oh my! A beautiful build of the classic, best of Monograms bombers. Superb.
Thank you, Dave!
Beautiful work, turned out really nice!
Thank you, Butch!
Fantastic NMF finish Rafi!
Thank you, Ian!
Nicework and a great result.

Thank you, Tom.
Will do.
I looked at the photographs again. It looks better with a touch of genuine weathering.
Will postpone the cleaning.
Your aluminum paint looks like "weathered aluminum" on its own. Most airplans don't have dust on them if they're doing any flying.
Good point.
Very nice, Rafi. She's big!
Thank you, Gary!
The mother of all Monogram B-easts.
Excellent work.
Thank you, Dan!

Thank you, John.
I solved the storage space issue by placing the model on a high ledge.
Nice looking - that has to be a BIG model!
Thank you, Greg!
It is my biggest aircraft model in the collection.
Superb result, Rafi!
Big, bold and beautiful!
Thank you, Spiros!
Very bold.

Than you, Greg.
Amazing sight!
The sound of the engines as she passed overhead was just awesome.
This is an impressive build, Rafi @blackmopane
Both, in quality and size. She must consume a lot of space on your shelf.
Thank you, John.
I found out that there is much more space to put models the higher you go.

Thank you, Russell!
Lucky you, for the unique experience!
