Junkers Ju 88S-1
The Ju 88S was an attempt to create a faster, multi-role variant with the installation of BMW801D air-cooled radial engines, the deletion of the gondola, and the reduction of the crew to three. The Ju 88S-1 was the bomber version. This model featured a bomb load of only 1,000 kg to maximize performance.
I used Dragon's 1/48 Ju-88C as a platform for the S-1 variant. Most parts, such as engines were obtained from the G series while the rest were scratch made.
Another nice one!
Thank you, Greg!
Beautiful conversion to this S variant, Rafi @blackmopane
Well done.
Thank you, John.
Nice work, Rafi. That’s a not often modeled variant of the Ju88.
Thank you, John.
Awesome conversion and excellent result, Rafi!
Thank you, Spiros!
Great build and very effective interpretation of the camouflage style, Rafi. Did you find an aftermarket source for the nose cap or vacu-form one over a self-made mold? It looks very good, either way. Congratulations!
Thank you, Christopher!
Nose cap was self made.
That's a beautiful reproduction of a JU88 I didn't know about! It must have been quite a machine because even the vanilla 88 in The Battle of Britain could outrun a Hurricane if it saw it in time!
Thank you, Ross!
If I am not mistaken the rece S-3 was the fastest Ju 88.
Great work on this. Too bad Dragon didn't do this version themselves.
Thank you, Tom.
Nice conversion, great camo as usual!
Thank you, Chas!
Great job on my favorite Ju88 version. Makes me want to take out my Promodeler kit and use the resin engines, Squadron canopies and decals to do the S or T.
Thank you, Kevin.
Enjoy your build.
