Many countries that had the Mig 21 variants provided a vast array of camouflage schemes. I chose the Nigerian Air Force scheme to adorn 's excellent kit.

  1. Excellent model, awesome camo, Rafi!

  2. I have been reading a book on the history of Area 51. Israel got its hands on a MiG-21 beyond the Soviet Bloc's boundaries by offering a million-dollar bounty. In a remarkable display of international,

cooperation, they subsequently loaned the aircraft to
the United States, where military personnel dubbed
it the "Donut" due to its distinctive shock cone intake
design. The U.S. took it apart down to the nuts and
bolts, remanufactured it, and flew it many times at or near Area 51 .With the information gained on the flight characteristics they incorporated the weaknesses of the MiG-21 into the Navy's Top Gun school training syllabus. The Navy was able to turn around the air losses in North Vietnam because, of the Israelis efforts. Rafi Ben-Shahar.(@blackmopane) if your any student of aviation you have to have a Mig-21 in the collection. Your painting really stands out. The green patterns have a little wear and weathering or softness of the edges which really adds to
that used look. Two thumbs up.

  3. Great airbrush work, Rafi. That was the standard Soviet export scheme for non-Warpac client states. Did you mask or freehand the green?

  4. A fine looking MiG, Rafi @blackmopane
The camouflage pattern is beautifully applied.

  5. A well-chosen scheme for the -21! Another excellent build
