Shark Toothed Snake: 1/48th Monogram AH-1F/S Cobra
This AH-1F/S Cobra a simple build, perhaps a bit too simple as the engine is only two parts split down the middle which makes clean up a bit challenging. As with the vintage Monogram kits raised panel lines are present and accounted for here (if you care). Desert paint finish was FS 33717 or FS 33711 with weathering added to match the reference photos that I had. I would still recommend the kit (now Revell) as a good jump-off point for an inexpensive, simple, fast build that gets you a decent kit or a super-detailers start on a gem kit build.

Thanks for looking & good luck on your next build.
An awesome Cobra! Excellent article on your website, too!
Thanks for looking Spiros
A beautiful Cobra, @flypastrush
The Cobra is one of the best looking helicopters in my opinion.
Great article as well on your website.
Thanks John (@johnb), Certainly a slim profile machine - lean and mean as they say 😉
A really mean looking Cobra! Nice piece of work. @flypastrush
The animation helps with that sinister grin - Thanks Alfred (@alfred)
Nice work! My kind of chopper with only two blades. Easy to display.
Yes, true enough John - That Cobra doesn't take up much display room
Looks nice! I've always loved the Cobra.
Thanks Greg - Like a nice compact sports-car ...with a lot of power
A really nice job, and it brings back so many fond memories for me because I flew Cobras for almost ten years during my Army career. The sand paint scheme is a nice diversion from standard Army Helicopter drab-it looks great!
Cheers,
Scott
Thanks Scott (@scott57) , That Cobra had to be quite the experience to fly, especially that both sides downwards view that you usually don't get in rotors! Yeah, the paint is a nice change too. I did a Blackhawk series in desert colours for the same reason. - Cheers
