Neat to see a Kitty Hawk Banshee in the line up. This kit has gotten a lot of criticism for misshapen parts. Of note the engine intakes. It appears to have won a silver metal. Someone has modeling skill.
I can't comment on any of the shape inaccuracies, but it's a great little kit to build, I really enjoyed mine.
I agree, for all the hits the KIT has taken, it still appears to build into a really nice looking model. Definitely one I will pick up, 50s era NavAir jets, man...
This model was built by a very good friend of mine, Jeremy Wilson. He had all sorts of fit issues when building it but persevered and the results are stunning
Always in awe of the talent displayed there. Thank you.
I'm particularly impressed by the Japanese F-4 wityh the hundreds of perfectly-placed stencils - no silvering anywhere, every one in perfect position. That's hard!
Yes...I noticed that as well - must've taken as long to do THAT as it did to assemble it.
I did not record how many hours went into construction but I can tell you how many hours I spent to apply those decals - about 22 hours, 15 of them at one stretch! 🙂
Glad you like my F-4. Re decals, true it was a tedious and time consuming task!
Some great models there, I really enjoyed looking at these. Can anyone tell me what is the model in pictures 6, 7 and 8, please?
Appears to be the Kinetic Alenia/Aermacchi/Embraer AMX, in Italian markings.
Built by Chris McDowell
Some great talent over there!
Thank you so very much for posting these clear, bright and detail-oriented photos—excellent, excellent! A study gold mine for detail and technique!
Great models and nicely photographed. Thanks for posting.
Great show and great models, well done to all!
Congratulations to everyone who put a model on the table. Each one is inspiring.
