1/48 Monogram B-25J Mitchell Emergency Strip- Expanded version with new pictures

May 12, 2013 · in Aviation · · 9 · 3.5K

Here is the expanded version of B-25J Solid nose with new pictures. This was finished with the markings of “Emergency Strip” from 38th BG / 71st BS in Okinawa during August 1945.
The kit is old Monogram from 1991 with raised panel lines.
Modifications are::

  • Eduard seat belts
  • Cutting Edge late type corrected cowling set for Accurate Miniatures.
  • Quickboost gun barrels
  • True Details B-25 wheel set
  • Resicast clear lens for landing/taxi lights
    I decided to built this B-25 without side gun packs due to my reference picture.
    Decals are from “Albatros- B-25 at war / Dragon and tigers and girls….oh my” decal set.

Happy modelling

    I really like that B-25. You did an excellent job on the finish. So much fun weathering and fading OD. Great job and fun markings. I am putting finishing touches on my Accurate Miniatures B-25 in the Dirty Dora boxing. I would say I had all the same issues with assembly you did with the Monogram kit, I just hope mine comes out as nice as yours. Again Great Job!

  8. Thanks for the comments.

    Tolga .. a SUPER model .. AND you did ONE thing that is not done much on models ..the tires SHOWS a "flat" side on the ground ...as much realism as it gets ..I look at some of my models that NEED "better looking tires", and wonder where to get real looking tires ! Inspiring job with details, paint job .. GREAT !
