Porsche 911 GT2

June 2, 2018 · in Automotive · · 11 · 2.3K

Yep. another completed, but to be fair it was started long before the 350Z that I posted here a couple of weeks ago. So straight to the point, this is another kit, and it is as ever superbly engineered, and fits just about perfectly. The BIG thing for this project however was the excellent Tamiya plastic - this is the 'Taisan' boxing and it's molded entirely in glossy black ! - so I'll let y'all guess how many primer coats it took before applying the glossy white top coats. Decals are by Scale Design, no I've not heard of them either but they're the best part of twenty years old and behaved flawlessly.

As ever thanks for taking the time to look and / or comment, please ask any question or hurl any criticism. Not sure what's next, will see what calls to me from the stash when I go in to the cave next week.

Ian.

  4. One of my all time favorite cars and yours is just stunning! It really pops and shines. WOW!

  5. Now that's my type of Porsche! An even faster version of a fast one! Cracking build as well Ian.
I raced against a GT2 road car out of the cones at the start of the Nurburgring. It is the only car ever to have nearly beat my R1 in drag race. I say nearly... I still won đŸ™‚ But only just.

  6. Ian, This looks really nice. The one thing that really stands out for me is how realistic it looks. Well done !

  7. Very nice colour scheme and decals on this classic kit, Ian, and the seat harness really adds to the realism.

  8. Thank you everyone, as ever I really do appreciate the comments, never taken for granted.

Still undecided as to what comes next, may finish-off my BIG Stuka (went in to a box when we moved house a few months ago) or start another NASCAR as I haven't done one for a while.

    Ian.
