Yang Guoxiang, who later became the famed test pilot who dropped the first Chinese H-bomb in January 1972. Here is an interview with him on how the event almost didn't happen.
Interesting aircraft and story. Thanks Yi for model and thanks Tom for pointing out story. I know this type from the excellent Osprey photo book Asian Airpower. Pakistan used to fly Chinese MiG developments, including the A-5 (export version of Q-5) with its pointed nose, American avionics, British bang seat and French or American AAMs. A true Frankenstein machine.
Hello, and welcome onboard at iModeler. That's a lovely model of an interesting subject. I especially like the way you've done panel line shading on an otherwise monochrome paint scheme. Well done
Nice build...I like how you've done this.
It's a pretty airplane, and a beautifully built model. It reminds me of a Grumman F11F "Tiger"...with more wing, and more "Oomph".
Thanks for sharing. A truly unique subject.
Very nice.

Wow. What an interesting story. Also the similarities to US nuclear weapons delivery technique and design.
Hydrogen Bomb Flinger - what a name! Great looking model.

Really fine looking model. The aircraft has a "mean" look to it.
In fact, if you look carefully, this plane is a variation of MiG-19.
what i found interesting was the involvement of an engineer who studied in the US...
Excellent build - well done! I love the Chinese variations of some of the Russian airframes.
A great build! Yes ,it does resemble the Mig-19.
But better looking.
That's a very refined build, with great presentation and photography. Nice work!
