1/32 Hasegawa Focke Wulf Fw 190A6 /R11 "Black 8"

October 19, 2018 · in Aviation · · 12 · 2.4K

This is Focke Wulf Fw 190A6 with the markings of "Black 8"
This is field modified R11 for night fighting which was one of the Neptun radar equipped aircraft of JG300 in Fall of 1943.

Base kit is Hasegawa Fw 190A6. I have used OWL Fw 190A6/R11 set to convert.
Cockpit modified by MDC instrument dials decals and AML A/F seat & belts.
Resin radar screen part on the instrument panel is from OWL FW-190A6/R11 set

Exhaust and Gun barrels are from Quickboost.
Wheels replaced by Eagle part Fw 190A early wheels.
The propeller and spinner are from HD - Henri Deahne set.
Painting done with Gunze Sangyo acrylics.
Decals are from my spare box.
Ps: I have used outer upper wing armament bulges due to drawings of Fw 190A6/R11 on Kagero Vol1 book. But I am not sure about their existence.
Happy modelling

  1. I love night fighters, and think you have done a very nice job on this one. Very clean build with a nice finish. I like the scheme, yellow makes a nice splash.

  2. This is a kick-butt Fw190...wow. Your really created a masterpiece! I think it is one of the better 190s I have come across in 1/32. Your really turned this kit into a true piece of art and demonstrated outstanding modeling skills. Love the finish and scheme. Fantastic.

  3. Yet another stellar piece of modeling from the talented hands of Tolga. πŸ™‚

  4. A wonderful piece of work, Tolga...as usual. The photography in this presentation is fantastic. Crystal clear - which actually shows off just how good your skills are. You have the shading perfect for an all grey colour scheme - lots of nice variations and depth. A real artist's touch.

  5. Up to your usual standard, Tolga. Lovely work.

  6. Another Tolga WOWSER! Beautiful work.

You can take it to the bank that the upper cannon bulges are incorrect for the Fw-190A-6. After doing my Fw-190A-6 with those bulges, I learned from "the horse's mouth" that those bulges are ONLY for the Fw-190A-8/R2.

Oh well... if Tolga didn't know, and I didn't know, we're both in good company. πŸ™‚

  7. I doubt if Mr. T's Fw-190 where to be Judged at a IPMS event that the judges would ferret out the incorrect bulges and take away the "Gold".

Speaking of which another Golden Goldilocks build worthy of being yet another candidate for "Model of the Month." Two thumbs up on yet another shadow producing kit for us mortals to stand in.

    • Yes Stephen you are right.
I have already another A6/R11 ( White 11) in my bucketlist.
This time it will be finished without bulges.:)
      Thanks

  8. Thanks all for nice comments. Very appreciated indeed.
    And really motivational for me.

  9. A beautiful 190, and up to the usual Tolga standards of pristine details and paint and finish work. Excellent. And - I LOVE the Fw-190 "Porcupine!" I'm going to have to create one in 1/72 for my collection now that I've seen this. Wonder if there's a set in that scale, or if it means scratch building...

  10. Absolutely stunning...
