"The Fight That Never Happened" - Royce Williams in an F9F-5 goes 1:7 against Russian-flown MiG-15s of the Red Air Force and shoots down four. No other American fighter pilot ever scored like that, particularly not in an airplane that shouldn't have been inhabiting the same airspace with 7 MiG-15s. The story Naval History and Heritage Command refuses to accept today (since there aren't "two living witnesses" left)
How Naval Aviation saved itself and has never been criticized since.
The true story that became "The Bridges At Toko-ri."
The true story that became "Men of the Fighting Lady."
Neil Armstrong demonstrates the coolness that he would use to land on the moon, in his third combat mission.
And an analysis of why we haven't "won" a war since 1945.
From getting airsick in a cockpit to decisions made at the highest levels of the US government.
The real story of Naval Aviation in the Korean War
Sounds enthralling, TC - can't wait.
Wow!
I'll keep my eye out for this one. I got the Osprey "F9F Panther Units in the Korean War" in my book-shelf.
...but "February 2109" is a long time to wait đ
Great work Tom, but can I get a sneak preview before 2109? Otherwise must send my unborn grandchild to the shop... Looking fwd!
Tom, judging by your description youâve written a profunde work on a often forgotten XX century conflict seen from the US navy perspective. It caught my attention for sure
Hello Tom,
This is information that most of us will be very pleased with. Update's on books is very welcome on this site. It gives the modeler precise information and hopefully also some great pictures.
Regards,
Dirk / The Netherlands.
At least some inspiration in project choice! đ
Looks good, Tom.
I like the pic on the jacket showing a photo Banshee with fighter Banshee as escort. I'm looking forward to getting your new book. Will it have a Kindle version?
Yes!
Looking forward to this Tom
On my "must have" list!
Looks like a good read.
"And an analysis of why we havenât âwonâ a war since 1945."
That's because, we don't do what the Romans did, invade the country, keep boots on the ground, subjugate the people to Roman law and commerce and if you don't agree with us will wipe out your village and family. Either become, Romans or else or subjects of Rome.
Will there be a book signing? We know the wine and cheese party is out of the question. The airfare is too expensive...
Sadly so true. We call ourselves "The New Rome" and think it's a compliment.
I may have some books you will be able to buy direct from me that I will sign.
Looking forward to it.
