Last Details Added to my 1/32 Tamiya RNZAF Corsair
This article is part of a series:
I finally received the stretchy line for the aerials in the mail yesterday and attached the completed assembly using copper and steel wire, Albion Ni-Ag tubing, and a little paint. Next, it will be placed on the shelf where it will remain quietly collecting dust.
Best. Antenna. Ever.
I've been told that. Hey, it was your tutorial that made this possible.
Best. Model. Ever...
Ahhh, shucks...
Man, I'm glad you did the antenna. I was biting my tongue when you showed it first.
I knew deep down inside it was eating you alive.
Yes, Wednesday was worst. I dreamed of wires and cables.
And btw: the copper coloured plastic wire I used for the antenna at my Corsairs turned verdigris green in the meantime. That I call true realism!

I hate those kinds of dreams.
Those Corsairs look great. I'm starting to become a real fan of them and hope to build another one soon. Working on a Do-335 now.
A master work. True greatness in modeling.
Thanks, David.
Phenomenal job.
That is truly an outstanding build...my congratulations to you.
George, like many of the models built here on iM, it will never look so good again, and gather dust, as you say. But your techniques and ability, and that model at the moment the camera clicked here are just magnificent! Congratulations!
George, I really like the very realistic look. Showing it with the cowl open is a very nice touch. Very well done !
Thanks, Terry . The cowl parts have been painted and weathered, but they're the only parts on the model that don't fit as well and I can't figure out why.
A true masterpiece! Like that look of Corsairs with the flaps down. Well done George!
Thanks Dmitry.
Damn fine job George. "Best antenna ever." doesn't quite sum up the total view, lol.
My only niggle, is that I can't see it in person. But, the internet does have its advantages...
George what's on deck for the 2019?
Hi Stephen. Thanks. I'm working on the fantastic Zoukei-Mura Do-335 Pfeil. I should have WIP photos up soon.
Thank you all for your kind words. I appreciate it.
George, you built another masterpiece... This one will probably end up in the running for model of the month. You can't go wrong with a Corsair... It's my favorite plane.
Well done Sir !
"liked"
Thank you, Louis. I'm starting to like WWII planes a lot. I was stuck in a rut building jets and now I've rediscovered piston power. The Corsair is my favorite plane, too. I intend to build another some day.
