Vultee V1A American Airlines
This is the 1:72 Special Hobby Vultee V1A. I previously built this as a Spanish Civil War bomber, but wanted to depict it in its civilian guise as well. Other than its SCW stable mate this one was much more difficult to track down.
The built went pretty much trouble free, almost till the end... After I stuck the decals on, I noted the anti glare panel didn't look right. So I re-masked the area and re-sprayed. Of course I ripped off part of the decals when removing the masking tape 🙁
Luckily Mika from Artic Decals came to the rescue and produced a new set for me, correcting some of the errors in the original sheet as well.

I was always fascinated by airliner models which allow you to catch a glimpse of passenger seats through the windows... therefore I have to put a like on this one!

It looks excellent, Peter! I like the old airliners ... probably because I remember MY first flight on an airplane ... it was a DC-3 (perhaps a C-47 converted to passenger use) back in 1955.
Your V1A really looks like those great times when airliner flights were still new & amazing, not like the bus rides they seem to be like now. Great model!
PS - Before you think I'm crazy; boring "bus rides" is GOOD when you consider what CAN happen at 10,000 meters (32,000 ish feet) and zooming along at 1,100 kph (600 mph)! But usually doesn't! "Boring "bus rides" indeed! LoL!
