1/48 F9F-5 Panther
When I finished my Banshee last week and put it in the display case, I realized that I had never shared it's stablemate the Panther with anyone online. This is the Monogram kit that I think came out in 1990 or 1991. In my opinion, it's the best 1/48 fighter that Monogram ever did and is still one of my favorite kits. I built this one in 1995 before the internet was widely used and none of our favorite sites existed. I painted it with Aeromaster gloss sea blue , not knowing that it's a better match for WW2 GSB then ‘50s GSB. The decals are from Superscale. As you can see, it's considerably smaller then the Banshee.
Beautiful presentation, John...nice job!
Thanks, Craig!
Great job on one of my all-time favorite aircraft. Nicely done John!
Thanks, Gary!
Totally agree with you that this kit is one of Monogram's best. I think I must have made 10 of them when it came out in 1990 and have still done others within the past couple years.
Really nice result on this one, and the GSB looks fine to me, not being a member of the ColourPolizei.
Yes, Tom, I’ve seen a couple of yours. I have -5P in the stash that I’m going to do in the silver scheme at some point.
Great looking Panther! As well as the Banshee.
Thanks, Robert!
Sweet
Thanks, George!
