Apollo Command Module – Heller 1:100

July 22, 2019 · in Space · · 6 · 1.8K

Hi All!
This is an Apollo CM I made from the ancient 1:100 kit if I remember correct five years ago. I made this one as a gift for my girlfriend who is interested in the space age (I bought her the then come out book "Hystory of Space Flight" with Buzz Aldrin's foreword also so it was a "gift pack" 🙂 ). I thought this round anniversary is a great time to share some pictures of the model. I can't say too much about it, as it's quite simple kit and have some innacuracies too - I concentrated mostly for the aesthetics to be honest not the absolute accuracy. I corrected some details however but I didn't go far. I added a polished metal frame as a base with a picture of the distant earth (a NASA photo naturally 😉 ) as a background. A strong plastic rod (attached by a screw to the frame) hold the ship. I wanted the depict the moment when the module disconnects before final returning (thats why the separation from the living/commanding unit). Hope You like it! Cheers! 🙂

Last but not least, great respect for the heroes who made this great journey and those who made it possible!

  1. Nice project, Gàbor. Guessing if you still have the model, you still have the girlfriend, no?
