Airfix B-17G Anxious Angel
This is the Airfix B-17G, which represents a late production Fortress with the Cheyenne tail turret and staggered waist gun positions. This is a nice kit right out of the box, I added a few aftermarket bits but you would still get a nice build without them. I substituted resin wheels and Eduard turbochargers. Master brass gun barrels are really little jewels, I was very impressed with these. Decals are from Kits World and represent "Anxious Angel" of the 401st Bomb Squadron, 91st Bomb Group.

OK, so what's with going to an airshow, taking some pics, then acting like it's a model you built?
Oh wait...
Busted ...
as dave said it looks incredibly real...real pretty girl
Nicely done Jeff and great pics as well.
Yeah, those outdoor shots really set it off nicely...good job!
Very realistic photography.
However, one mistake (a very common one with B-17 models): there is no exhaust out of the cooling vents on the upper wing. What is seen on the upper wing is oil stain, cov ering the upper half of the engine nacelles aft of the cooling flaps and starting down below (cast "up and over" by the air over the wing), and then back across the wing. It's not too late to take some Tamiya "Smoke" and solve the problem. Check photo below.

Cue the Twelve o'clock High music, great work!
Very good model, hard to believe 1/72 scale delivers such good models these days. The outdoor photograph is very well taken...seems the Fortress is the buzz word today
One of the best NMF paint jobs I have ever seen! Well done!
Thanks for all the kind words guys, much appreciated!
Fabulous Jeff!
Really beautiful job on this! Well done.
Anyone who can paint a model in natural metal and have it come out looking this good is my hero. Awesome work.
Hello. Great model! Did You have any historic photos of Anxious Angel?
There are a few, but I didn't have anything more than what you can find with Google.
