Zvezda 1/72 La-5fn
My April no-frills build. This one took more than a month as it turned out to be a putty monster. The wing root areas took several applications of putty and sanding to get them to look good. Fortunately, the wings didn't have a lot of panel lines since the wings on the real planes were made of wood so I saved some time not needing to rescribe. In the end it turned out decently and I now have another in my collection of Aircraft in Profile, vol. 7.
Great looking aircraft. I have this exact kit in my stash and was thinking about putting it together. Interesting to see how the scheme turned out.
Looks good Scott even if you had to use a fair amount of putty. I like it.
Nicely done!
A beautifully built model and a nice scheme, Scott!
I quit using modeling putty back in the mid 1980's when "thin & gap" filling super glue came on the market. It's easy to sand and when you get too 600 grit you can paint over it and you don't need any undercoat. I have over 300 models built this way. RJW!
Cool plane. Good work on the metal side panels.
Although you had to use a lot of putty, it turned out very nice, Scott.
Looks great Scott!
