Curtiss glory daze…Hawk 75 China 1937
Haven't done much lately so I'll bore you with an oldie from 2012. Special Hobby 1/32 Hawk 75 converted to resemble the "Hawk 75 demonstrator" that Madame Chiang Kai Shek of China bought for Claire Chennault, leader of the Chinese Air Force in 1937. Rear window area converted from glass panels to "scallops", Landing gear "spats" modified, all markings sprayed or drawn with sharpie. It sure shows but luckily the "Curtiss" fuselage logos were covered up by the camouflage attempt. Worn paint by combo of wiping acrylic dark green off Alclad with windex and masking fluid. Love this airplane. Watch out I put a guard on it.
"A thing of beauty is a joy forever." 🙂
That's just a lovely looking patchwork of paint and metal. Great results Bill!
Nice Bill.
Watching your 75 build. At's why I revived this. 🙂
Far outshines mine Bill.
That's real WOW, Bill.
The camouflage results are fantastic.
Excellent! The weathering is outstanding, among others.
Great build and presentation!
She's a looker, one of your most visually stimulating ones. That or your Buffs.
Another Koppos beauty of a relatively obscure member of the Hawk family.
Looks great!
Magnificent paintwork & weathering techniques, mein Mentor. Grok your hatred of dekkles.
I really like how you matched the reference photos. Excellent build!
