F-51D Mustang, Korean War – Tamiya 1/72
Hi all
Here I am again. This time with a model I did last year.
This Tamiya Mustang is a beauty to build, very straightforward almost no filler required as we can expect from a Tamiya kit.
The aluminium paint is the H8 Chrome Silver from Gunze thinned with Tamiya X20A.
The kit was built straight from the box as usual.
Any comments and critics are welcome, as ever!
Cheers
Sweet little build...nice job.
Cheers Craig!
Very nice, Paulo.
Thanks mate!
I hate to use that word again, Paulo, but it really is a very nice little Mustang!
Thanks mate! I really appreciate it!
By that stage of the Mustang's career, it was painted overall aluminum lacquer, which weathered badly in Korea. You have managed to get that look just right. Nice work.
Thanks mate! It was my intention
Glad you mentioned that i would have done a natural metal finish on this one
Like it Paulo. I have this kit too only its the more recent Airfix issue . I love the Korean war Mustangs.
I was happy with the finish as well.
Lovely build Paulo.
Cheers Simon
Nice One Paulo, it looks Rippa Mate
Regards
Mark
Cheers Mark! Thanks for you comment!
Paulo, Very nicely done- I too, really like the Korean War finish on your 'Stang.
Thanks Erich. I'll probably not be able to replicate this weathering again if I try.
Paulo,
I occur with all of the above. An excellent job.
Cheers mate!
