1/35 Academy 'Stug IV'

February 26, 2021 · in Armor · · 8 · 2.5K

This is the . Pretty simple kit, but at 1/2 the price of other similar kits on the market its pretty good. Went together well and wnen it's all finished it definitely looks like it's ready for action.

I've always wanted to do a German tank covered in foliage but could never quite find the right stuff that looked 'real' enough until I stumbled on the model railway bushes I've used here.

The crew figures are a mixture of parts from my spares box. The infantry are the Dragon kits: 'German Panzergrenadiers' and 'German soldiers at rest'.

Currently I'm trying to stop making too many dioramas as I'm quickly running out of shelf space for my builds, but I REALLY want to put this in one. However for now, I'm staying strong...

  1. When running outta room for dioramas you could go vertical, as in a vertically-stacked rack of small shelves, each with a diorama base. You could set the diorama base on the shelves or use the shelf itself as a diorama base which is what I do. When I had access to it I used metal for mine but you could do the same with wood shelves, built to fit almost any nook or cranny you can think of. I can post pics here if you're curious but I think you know what I mean.

Then again, this already is its own little self-contained diorama.

Great job with this, I love anything on a Panzer IV chassis, just graceful-looking.

    Awesome work on the figures.

  2. It looks the part. Nice job.

  3. Love your job, too, my friend @carlpud!

  4. Great work, but, yeah, it would look even better in a diorama.

  5. Nice job Carl, congrats!

  6. Really great job adding all the figures and extras, the foliage camo is awesome!

  7. 🙂 ... Greetings ... 🙂 :
A very captivating and fascinating work of modeling Carl, I am glad to see such a
miniature done in this form. This whole use of the foliage and figures gives this model so much character that as fellow modelers have stated ... a diorama is a must.
The model is all done, it is waiting for it's ground so that it can pop out.
Good work Carl, thank you for sharing these pictures.
