Kinetic 1/48 Pucará
Just finished the Kinetic 1/48 Pucará. Beautifully engineered kit - I made a couple of schoolboy errors along the way, like leaving out some of the internal cockpit parts, and only realised after the canopy was in place (there was NO way that was coming off !). Taken me about 7 weeks, which is really quick for me. Finished mainly in MRP paints, with some oils and Mig weathering powders. Quite disappointed with Kinetic - there were a number of decals in the kit which the instruction booklet didn't mention for placement. Their website says that you can download a PDF for all of their kits, but the Pucará wasn't on it. They also say that they will respond to requests to add anything that's missing, but an email I wrote to them went unanswered. Minor gripe over - I really enjoyed this build.
Very good! I really like the way it looks. I'm going to use it as an example for when mine arrives.
thanks Juan - I think there's a build log by someone in one of the more well known modelling magazines (I think it might be Meng Air Modeller) which will probably have a few tips. My main advice would be to make sure that you get plenty of weight in the front, otherwise it will sit on the tail. I'd already closed up the fuselage before I remembered, so I had to load tiny fishing weights, dipped in PVA, into the front of the tanks and engine nacelles.

Thanks Dale`- this is pretty much all that was used. I ghosted in some white and gull grey, just to add a little variation to the tones. The "snakeskin" camo was done with MRP masking putty.

Yeah, this is definitely one of those "great kits" and you have made full use of the opportunities presented. I like this a lot.

This is yet another wonderful Pucara, Robert, from the great Kinetic kit (which I do not know for how long I will resist buying and tackling...).
Thanks Spiros - there may well be some aftermarket detail sets available - this one is straight out of the box. The only things I added were some tiny fishing weights to stop it from sitting on it's tail.
