Fw 190 A-6 1/48 Hasegawa

July 4, 2021 · in Aviation · 17 · 2.3K

This is an old build. I was going through photos and found these. I'm not sure when I did this but it was probably early 2000's It represents a JG1 plane operating from Schiphol Airfield, Holland 1943. I've always liked the checkerboard cowlings of the JG1 planes.

  1. Very nice 190, Dale. I have plans to eventually do the same aircraft. You’ve done a killer job with yours!

  2. Awesome results, Dale.
Lots of details and perfect paintwork.
The checkerboard looks very nice as well as the isolator for the antenna, what did you use for that?

  3. Thanks for your kind comment John. The insulator was done using white glue.

  4. Now, I’ve seen this one before Dale 😉
More seriously, the checkers are beautifully made, perfectly aligned, and the rest is of your usual top quality. Thumbs up

  5. Nice subtle mottling, Dave. Well done.

  6. Fantastic job Dale! Look at that side mottling, absolutely spot on! The antenna is also very well depicted. Loved it!

  7. Very nice work as usual Dale.

I've heard rumbles over the past couple of years that the JG 1 red and yellow checkerboard options were Dave Klaus not sharing what he's been smoking. Which wouldn't surprise me. It's a great scheme regardless.

  8. Beautifully finished, Dale, definitely liked.

  9. Very nice And inspiring work Dale. Thanks for sharing.

  10. Excellent Wurger, Dale!

  11. Nice work Dale. Good result.

  12. Amazing work Dale, I love the mottling on the sides and the variation in the paint tones, looks very realistic.

  13. That's a real standout Dale, and not just due to the excellent checkerboard scheme - I love the rest of the paint and weathering - looks very realistic and weathered to scale.

  14. Thanks everyone for the positive comments!
