PTO tribute
“Foxy” from the 45th FS/15th FG based on Iwo Jima, 1945
Not a very happy ending to this beautifully marked aircraft which is “parked” under that pile of smoke
It was struck by the aircraft “parked” upside-down
The end result

Beautiful build! PTO Mustangs are marked in a distinctive way from their ETO counterparts, it is almost a signature look. Cool backstory, too.

🙂 … Greetings … 🙂 :
A very noteworthy for the PTO build George.
The sheen to it looks good and the green markings give it a singular look.

Sleek-looking PTO P-51, George. I really like the bare metal finish and minimal markings on Pacific Mustangs. You have done nice panel variation on the wings and really good decaling work. I find it really hard to get the decal carrier film to completely disappear on metal finishes. How do you do it?

Thanks Colin. I give all the credit to Superscale for the decals. The BMF was brush painted with 5 different silvers: Tamiya Flat Aluminum, Titanium, and a combination of Flat Aluminum, Titanium and Chrome for the fuselage. Also used were Citadel Runefang Steel and Irom Breaker

Thanks all. The Tamiya kit was a great joy to build

Hope my current Mustang in progress looks as good as yours.
