This is 1/48 Hasegawa F-104G with TuAF markings (Ex-USAF) during Best Hit Weapons Meet 1972 in Larissa- Greece.
Best Hit was a NATO competition in which the air forces of Italy, Greece and Turkey took part
Best Hit was held three times: the first one was in 1971 in Turkey, the 2nd was in Larissa, Greece and the third and last was in Istrana, Italy **
Cockpit enhanced with Quinta Studio F-104G interior set and old Cutting Edge resin seat.
Horizontal tail, main landing wheel well, practice bombs and rack are from DACO F-104 improvement set.
I have used Master pitot tube.
Paints are Gunze-Tamiya acrylics and Alclad metalizers.
Happy modelling
Your usual superlative work, Tolga!
Amazing result!
And, of course, another Tolga masterpiece!
Thanks a lot Spiros @fiveteen
I really like the colors on that one! Can you tell me what that main green color is, and is the wing top a gray? I need to get some decals to do a 1/72 version. Build looks up to your usual standards.
Thanks Greg @gkittinger
The color is ADC grey. It s not greenish but slightly bluish. (like USAF F-102s and F-104s)
I have used Gunze IJN Grey with some dropes of light blue. Due to sunlight angle, the reflection of the color may change.
The decals a deep mix of spare decals. I have used Turquoise decals for flag and roundels. Code number are Usaf style.
If you need I can send you a set of Turquoise roundels and flags from my spare parts.
Cheers
Ah - that makes sense! I have some roundels and flag decals, so I'm ok there. Thanks!
I meant to ask a question: did all of the Turkish 104's have the candy cane nose probe?
Although there are few exceptions, they are mostly like this.
Speechless, Tolga @tolgaul
The interior, the painting, the weathering, everything on this build is excellent.
This 104 is a true gem.
Thanks a lot John @john
More wonderfulness from the Tolga Aviation Works.
Thanks Tom @tcinla , appreciated
