Tamiya 1/48 Ilyushin IL-2 Sturmovik

November 28, 2022 · in Aviation · · 27 · 0.7K

Hello!

Here's my recent project, this very nice kit. Nothing else to say regarding its quality and easy to build, it's been around for quite some time now. I've just added Quinta 3d decals and resin wheels. Used Aqueous Gunze paints, my favorites, over Mr Surfacer 1500 black primer. Also, my very first attempt in the riveting process, which is a lot of work; but the result is very satisfying.
Hope you'll enjoy.

Cheers!

George

  7. Very nice job! I just wish Tamiya would properly size the rockets. Didn't know about this flaw until someone pointed it out on my scaled down 1:72 version. They are almost triple the size of the real rockets.

  8. Looks fantastic - the paint and weathering, and the riveting work, are all excellent.

  9. Very competent work. The weathering and overall paint finish look convincing.

I can clearly see some details (and shapes) that are absent on the AM plastic.
    Thumbs up!
