1:50 Scale Mini Snow Dock Diorama

January 13, 2023 · in Diorama · · 22 · 0.8K

I have been working on a small snow diorama for the Oscarsson's truck and trailer I weathered a while ago for a client. I wanted to show-off the truck and trailer combo in its environment to further make it more convincing., Although, the client did not request a diorama, I thought I'd show him how it would look in its environment, when I meet him next week to deliver the models. Who knows, he might just buy it. πŸ˜‰ Regardless, I still have to add tyre tracks in the snow and add snow on the dock roof. Hope you all like it.

  1. Brrrrr, that looks cold.
    Fantastic results!

  2. Temperature dropped here at Le Chateau du Chat 20 degrees while looking at these. Right up to the last two, there was a good argument to be made that you just went out and photographed the real thing.

  3. That is really great work!

  4. Very neat work. What are the two little Michelin lookin men on top of the cab, company or Scania related?

  5. Very realistic looking snow and weathering, I’m sure he’ll go for the diorama.

  6. A fantastic job, my friend Charles!

  7. This is so realistic, Charles @tiking
The way the snow piled up against the walls, the dirt collected in the wheel arces, everything is extremely detailed in this diorama.
    Well done.

  8. Top job as Always,

    Ps
An Ice Road Rescue (tow truck and Truck ) would be right up your alley.

  9. Charles,

I don't know how you guy's do it with a tractor and trailer combination. We recently had 1/10th of a inch of ice on the roads and 22 semi's jack knifed along with some 400 cars spinning out or headed for the ditch. It got down to 7 degrees F that night. As I write this and look out the window, icicles form on the edges of my home. Your loading dock would be cooler if it had some icicles. I know your working with a client and if there happy with your gifts and talents nothing needs to be done. However, if your next build where to show a truck sitting over night or coming in from the storm. The roof would have snow on it and the wipers would be incrusted with ice and snow. Along with the steps to the cab. I have a seasonal job driving in town and look at that stuff every day. Regardless of my observations, the truck and the diorama look professional.

    • Super thanks Stephen. I like the icicles on the roof edge idea. But in this scenario, it has not reached that temperature yet. Wait tills it gets colder and then plus degrees, and the snow starts to melt and than back down to freezing point... πŸ˜‰

  10. A real nice one Charles!

  11. Looks like it could be here in Minnesota. Another motion picture quality dio.
