Couple of T-Bolts
Taking a break from Mustangs. These two are a couple of my personal favorite paint schemes and both have a great history.
Lt. Col. Frank Perego, 368th FG Commander‘s ‘Slick Chick' and 56th Fighter Group Ace David Schilling's ‘Hairless Joe'. Both are Tamiya kits and finished with Alclad and Tamiya paints. A friend of mine has a couple rare photos of the top of Hairless Joe's wings so the camo pattern is as close as I could get. In researching both of these a/c I've found several incarnations of paint jobs. They both must have driven their crew chiefs nuts :). I tried to pick the best versions for both. Both were kept extremely clean and Slick Chick in particular was highly polished at different stages. Both fun out of box builds, I only added PE seatbelts. Thanks for having a look. Now back to Mustangs 😬
Nice work on these, Jim. Are they 1/48 or 1/72?
Awesome work on both of them!
Both look amazing, Jim!
Well done!
That's a nice pair of Thunderbolts, Jim @jimh
Great Plane! Great Kit! Great Builds!
Great-looking builds! Those are both really eye-popping schemes. Well done.
Cool builds! I think that the P-47 lends itself well to show cast nose art.
Both of these have very effective colour schemes which show off the lines of the aircraft.
