1/24 Monogram "Orange Hauler"
Monogram's 1990 reissue of their 1966 kit. A straight-out-of-the-box build. I kept it simple, which made this project a pleasure from start to finish. The first car model I've built since I was a kid in the 1960s. One of my favorites back then and now.
Beautiful, love this! Paint or did you polish the plastic? Don't remember if all the re-pops cvame molded in color or not.
Thanks Rob! It's the molded plastic color, glossed with three hand-brushed coats of Pledge floor finish. The bubble was dipped in Pledge to make it super clear. Interior trim was painted with a custom mix of Testors Red and Testors Yellow to match the plastic color, as well as some Testors White.

Thanks Clint! I think I'll be building a few 1960s Show Car kits this Winter. At least, that's the plan. Sadly, some were issued just once, and can only be had now for hundreds of dollars. Like Starbird's "Futurista," and the "Car Craft Dream Rod." Then there's this Show Car kit that was announced by MPC in the mid-60s, but never produced - Gene Baker's "Stiletto." If only it was an MPC repop today!

Such a cool looking model. Kind of reminds me of the first-generation Chevy Corvette.
With its very small bed, it's not much of a truck. Really more of a hot rod or sports car.
