Roland D. VIb, Fly, 1:48, Jasta 59, Oskar von Boenigk, 26 victories
This was my very first attempt at imitating a wooden fuselage. It was quite a comfortable building without any major intricacies. It is only necessary to refurbish the cockpit and a few details. Used turnbuckles from Eduard.
This aircraft was flown by Oskar Freiherr von Boenigk, 26 aerial victories. He survived the war and in the second war reached the rank of Major General of the Luftwaffe. He died in Soviet captivity on January 30, 1946. Thank you for watching.
Awesome job, Milan!
Absolutely realistic!
Congratulations!
Thank you Spiros.
Real nice woodwork! Rigging looks tight and realistic.
Thank you Ross.
Beautiful model, the quality is of a bigger scale!
I bought this kit in a hobby shop in Prague probably the year the kit was released and never got past the cockpit, not the kits fault though
Thank you, I will add the D. VIa version soon.
Very nice!
Thank you Gary.
Nice work, Milan. The “wood” looks very realistic.
Thank you John.
Great work on the wooden fuselage.
Thank you John.
Excellent build. Many of us have this kit, but few seem to have built it, let alone achieved such a great looking finish. Congratulations!
Thank you Christopher.
You did such a good job on this, you convinced me to hop over to eBay and grab one.
Thank you Tom, I'm glad I can be an inspiration to someone.
Very nice result, Milan @milantesar
The wooden fuselage turned out really well.
I do like those WWI birds but I never get them look as nice as yours.
Thank you John.
Great Roland Milan, painting woodgrain is fun, especially when you find a system that works well, yours does beautiful work.
Thank you Clint, still learning after returning to modeling.
🙂 ... Greetings 🙂 :
A pure joy to see, in the model view as in the artistic view.
The wooden finish is just outstanding as well as the rigging work.
Thank you, Milan for sharing these images.
Thank you for the positive opinion.
Excellent build, Milan! (@milantesar)
Thank you John.
For a guy who prefers bombs & missiles hanging from weapons pylons, that is a really cool model that catches the eye. Well done, Milan, excellent work!
Thank you Joe.
