Arado Ar68E-1
Roden 1/48 Arado Ar68E-1 from 3/JG135 late 1938. EZ line rigging. Wood grain propeller section is oil paint. Nice build, no problems with fit etc. Love the early Luftwaffe gear.
Thanks for looking. I'm moving house next week so will be concentrating on getting my new model building room up and running. But the builds will continue on. Excited. ππ
Ohhh, that's really nice! The Roden Ar-68 kits are easy and accurate. Along with their He-51, they're the best early Luftwaffe kits out there.
@tcinla, With the Roden kits available, I assume there is no reason to attempt the old Classic kits? I have both the Ar-68 and the He-51 in the stash, and both look to be extremely, uh, problematic...do I get an amen here? π
AMEN!
The He-51 kit is another of the CA biplane models where the struts don't fit right. The Ar-68 models have cowlings no engine could be stuffed inside of. The Roden kits on the other hand are easy to build and accurate.
Thank you. I'm still looking for a roden He51. But when I get one it'll be worth the wait.
Well done, Paul!
Thank you.
Excellent job, Paul! Great that you move to another house!
Thanks mate. It's huge too, plenty of room. Will be awesome.
Excellent colours! What significance have the white roundels, trainer markings?
Staffel markings inside the Gruppe.
What Tom said. π
The white roundels were the first time I used a cutting tool to mask rather than use decals. I'll be doing that alot more. So much nicer than decals.
Really nice result on this Arado, Paul @paulwoodyvanacker
Congratulations on your new house, great you will have a seperate modelling room.
Thanks mate. I'm very excited to finally have a room dedicated to it. I'll put up pics when it's ready eventually. I'll have gone from one tiny little desk to an entire room and extra covered area outside for painting.
It's nice when my girlfriend not only supports it but looks forward to seeing it too. π
Very neat work, Paul, I hope your house move goes smoothly.
Thank you.
A colorful Bipe is a thing of beauty. Nicely done.
Nice work, Paul. I did the Roden 68F a while back, they're really nice kits. Love the early Luftwaffe colors!
Thank you. I wanted the F but couldn't find one. LOL.
Still looking for a He51 now. They kind of go hand in hand for me.
Looks great! Odd looking scheme for a Luftwaffe aircraft. Nice choice!
Thank you.
It's quite common for that period actually. It was seen more on the F variant and on the He51. Of i find a He51 I'll be doing another scheme similar, but with red instead of blue. Looks fantastic.
Looks great Paul, and congrats on getting a new place to build your work area. Having a proper setup for building models really adds to the enjoyment of building. Its always an ongoing process of improvement, but if you are there long term, you can get it pretty well dialed in over time.
That's a striking model, Paul @paulwoodyvanacker! π€© I love the paintwork! π
Very nice indeed. The coloring used looks very good.
