1/12 scale Renault F1 car kit by Tamiya
Well here is another completed build. A Renault in 1/12 scale. Don't let the packaging fool you, these are vintage Tamiya kits with some pathetic photoetched thrown in. Beware that these kits were manufactured before the computer age and the fit and assembly are not what you are used to in modern kits. Suspension can be very fragile so handle with kid gloves or you will snap attachment parts. The kits look amazing when finished and are worth the effort for an experienced builder. I'll be doing the Lotus John Players kit soon so stay tuned!
Absolutely wonderful, Rick @rickschad
So much detail in the engine compartment, very realistic.
Two thumbs up for this one and looking forward to the John Player Special.
Thanks John! I’ll be doing the Lotus soon 😊
Superb job, Rick! Amazing detailing asl over!
Looking forward to the Lotus!
Thank you! Lotus will be fun!
@rickschad - Fantastic build Rick! The detailing looks amazing.
Thank you Brian
Looks like a really nice result despite the vintage of the kit. I built the Brabham and JPS Lotus 1/12 kits back in the day when both were “the bomb”.
They certainly are!
I built this kit when it first came out over 40 years ago, it was state of the art then, Rick, but you’ve made a great job of this one.
Thanks George, fun to build
Love these Tamiya 1/12 kits. Amazing details. Cant wait to see the Lotus
Thanks so much!
Like Greg I built the Brabham BT44, its was good kit and an enjoyable build. Nice work on the Renault Rick @rickschad
Thank you Robert! I’ve built a number of these kits and they are a lot of fun, if you are careful 😊
So cool, Rick! 🤩 Man, it looks like someone could climb right in and start her up! Mighty fine scale modeling, sir! 🏆
Thanks so much Gary!
