Hasegawa 1:48 P-47D-25 Thunderbolt Kit #09140 (Also listed as JT40)
This has been 2 years in the making. I started building it as shown on the boxart, "Angie". I was starting to put together the cockpit and while looking for references when I came upon this website...,

It details all the mistakes Hasegawa made with the markings. I was going to push through with the corrections but couldn't find a yellow paint to match the decals so there it sat. Last month I saw a decal sheet by AML which was for Russian P-39's and P-47's. I decided on the first option but it was for a -27 and Hasegawa is a -25. Off to search for differences between the two, I found that most upgrades were hidden but the one that could be seen was the floor. The -25 had a corrugated floor and starting with the -27, the floor was smooth. Easy peasey, fill in the corrugations with plastic strip and mud. After that, the kit fell together. All paint was Tamiya. The AML decals never showed any green through the white. According to Joe Baugher's site...

Don't usually see a Soviet Jug,Nicely done! . RIP Donald Sutherland. woof woof!
Thank you, Robert
Excellent Jug in oddball markings.
Thanks
That's a beautiful Thunderbold in a quite uncommon scheme, George @blackadder57
Thank you other George
Nicely done, George. Not sure I've seen a T'bolt with red stars before.
Thanks Gary. Apparently the Russians received a few hundred P-47s but weren’t impressed with them so only a few of them reached combat status in the VVS
Nice work George! I dont recall seeing a soviet P-47 model ever
Thanks Pedro
Beauty work, George. Didn't know that the P-47 was part of the Lend/Lease Deal.
Half the fun is figuring out the upgrade differences in the model numbers, thank goodness for the internet.
Back in the ol' days, I remember viewing the reference books in the library every visit since you were not allowed to take them out - planes and coins.
I have JT40 partially started on my shelves, now I know that I have a '-27' as an option, thank you!
Thanks another George @georgeswork Not a lot of lend-lease P-47 pictures out there. Can’t’ recall exactly what the differences are but I think two were in/around the engine and one was a fuel tank switch. There may be others
very nice - and unusual Russian markings.
Thank you Greg
Excellent job as always and a very attractive, unusual scheme, George!
Thank you Spiros
