Italian 100 Anniversary: Mc.200 Saetta, Italeri,1/48m,ETO
Happy New year everyone, the site that bring the world of plastic modeling into one place where we don't have to worry about the chaos and events happening worldwide. For the Italian Group Build is Italeri's Mc.200 Saetta in 48th scale.
Italeri can be hit or miss and this one is ok. Engraved panel lines in light grey plastic, Italeri can be lacking in details at times cockpit wise even in this scale, however with Eduard's Zoom set, the added details does help here. The cockpit is a semi open cockpit type with side window panels that drop down to gain entrance. I used the kit decals for a Tan Smoke ring scheme of Bruno/Verde over Grigio (Brown/Green/Lt Blue Grey. Using Aeromaster war Bird Acrylic for the Grey and Gialo (Yellow tan), Gunze DK Green and Earth. True details resin wheels. The assy process was uneventful, the seams were easy to clean up, fit was good, from start to finish. Shape wise well it looks the part of a Saetta Mc.200, some have mentioned issues. I really don't look or worry about that unless it is really obvious. Dropped the flaps drooped the stabs. Nice companion model to the Veltro I have, of the only 2 Italian WWII fighters on the shelf to date, I am eyeing the Eduard's Savio-Marchetti, which is Italeri plastic. for a future project.
Thanks for viewing, Happy New Year!
Fly Navy

Thanks George, Happy New year!
Un bellissimo aereo, Chuck.
Very nice build, always like the yellow accented schemes.
Now that's Italian George!, thanks, Happy New Year
Great work Chuck. I like the camo scheme..
Thanks Dale, Happy New Year, still tough when it comes to the rings, right touch and pressure minimizes the overspray, and painting a similar Veltro scheme helped a little.
That's an impressive result, Chuck @uscusn
Especially the details and camouflage do look great.
Happy New Year to you as well.
Thanks John, appreciate that and the encouragement, Happy New Year
Excellent Saetta, Chuck! Awesome contribution to our Italian100 GB!

Thanks Spiros, thanks for you and John for this and motivating me into building a couple of Italian subjects. Also Erick and Klavs for hosting the GB

Thanks Paul, those rings takes some patience to apply. Happy New Year
Great job, Chuck. Like the camo work. Nice start to 2025.
Thanks Gary, some catching up to do on completed builds from the last 2 years.
Another lovely Italian fighter Chuck (@uscusn). Someday I must really try and tackle one of these paintjobs. Excellent work.
Thanks Carl, WWII has such a variety of choices in the ETO, building a few Luftwaffe fighters and medium bombers have helped hone the various schemes that require some complicated squiggles, blotches and smoke rings on lot of the Axis aircraft that operated in theatre. Happy New year!
Very impressive painting on that airplane, nice work !
Thanks Jay, I still can't recall how long I held my breath airbrushing each ring...Happy New Year
You have hit another home run with this one. It looks great and I especially like the way the camouflage turned out. Well done.
Thanks Louis appreciate the comment, Italian camo are quite colorful with the different variations used on each of their aircraft type. Interesting schemes. Happy New year!
Really nice, Chuck! The smoke ring camo came out beautifully!
