Takom 1:35 Pzkw.I Ausf.A – First build of 2025
I picked up this kit not long before Tamiya released its Ausf.B kit. I'm tempted to builf the Tamiya kit to compare the two. This is a nice little kit of an iconic yet diminutive tank. Developed in secret in the 1930s, it weighed about 5 and half tons. By the end of the war Germany would field astronomically bigger tanks, including the 72-tonne Jagdtiger.
Overall, the kit is well engineered and molded. Although, it has plenty of delicate little parts. The pioneer tools in particular require a fine touch. Given the complexity of the running gear, I assembled and painted all its subassemblies and the length & link tracks off the tank and assembled everything before applying the final weathering.
That is magnificent work, Dennis! The first photo looks like a profile painted by a professionally trained artist. Takom should put that photo as the illustration on the box instead of the line drawing.
Really good work, Dennis @dmeyers
As said by Scoot @guitarhack5, the paintwork is indeed excellent and that first picture could definitely be used for illustration.
Fantastic result, Dennis!
Congratulations!
Outstanding build and finish.
