1/48 Tamiya Spitfire Mk I
First off, please forgive the poor photography. I am doing this with my iPad in poor lighting in my garage. Hope to get better. This is the third Tamiya Spit I have built. I really like this kit, warts and all. Paints are Tamiya and Mr. Color. Decals are Aeromaster and from the kit. UltraCast seat and True Details wheels. Depicts a/c from 616 Sq. Kirton-in-Lindsey. Johnny Johnson flew this a/c at least once, on Sept. 11, 1940, on an "X-raid". Thanks to Terry Schuller for encouraging me to post articles.
Dale, welcome aboard. Excellent choice to start with. You've done an excellent job on this one. Looks fantastic.
I look forward to seeing more of your builds here.
Warts...?! On a Tamiya kit...?! Please point them out because I sure can't see 'em! And no apologies for the photography - I've seen much worse. You're gonna like iModeler.
Comment was tongue in cheek. It's not a perfect kit, but it's close! Thanks for the kind comments. Hope to be posting an article on a Tamiya Bf-109E-4 next.
Welcome to iModeler, Dale, and your Spitfire looks fine despite the limits on your photography, looking forward seeing your 109E.
Nice job Dale and welcome. Enjoyed building this kit as well.
Great looking spitfire. Photos are fine, I use a regular camera, and my results are haphazard at best, Welcome.
Dale, welcome! Lotta Spit fans here, you'll fit right in. She looks fine, good work on her.
Nice job, Dale. Ref your photo comment and iPad- you can download an app for about £3.00 called Camera+ that gives you more control over your iPad images including a useful editing facility. I've used it a number of times at shows when I didn't want to carry around an iPad and camera as well.
Looking forward to seeing the Emil in due course.
Nice looking Spit, and ditto to the welcome comments!
Great job. I love all Spitfires but the Mk1 is my favourite.
Great job...LIKE
Dale, welcome! Who doesn't like a Spitfire? That's unamerican. Whoops! Oh, well, you know what I mean...
