The Hun is Done
This is the Trumpeter F-100D in 1/72 scale. Completed model number six for the year. I started this one in March completing about 85% of the model when a few problems with kit frustrated me to the point of putting it aside. The misshapen nose finally started to bug me, the decals didn't fit quite precisely enough and the axles on both wing struts broke. However, after a few months away from it and nearing the end of summer vacation, I decided to "get 'er done."
Well done, Scott, it's usually very satisfying to get something finished that you've had a few problems with. I can't comment on the shape of the nose, but it looks like a well finished model that's also nicely photographed.
Thanks George. You can't tell from the photos but, the bottom of the intake is flat when it should be oval.

Great looking model Scott, I am pleased to see you left the panel lines alone, they look fine without any wash, what paints did you use?
Thanks Allan. I used a gloss red undercoat and then decanted Tamiya gloss silver (TS 17) and sprayed it through my airbrush.
Well...despite the "trials and tribulations" mentioned, I sure can't see anything 'wrong' with it. Turned out very nicely - glad ya finished it! 🙂

Very nice Hun. Love the classic lines of the F-100. You've achieved a nice finish on this one, and it's very colorful to boot! I've done one in SEA scheme, but have a Tamiya kit waiting to take on the NMF like the one my dad flew. I'm a bit skittish of NMF but practicing on a P-47 now to build up my nerve!
