Curtis P 40E Kittyhawk, A29-41, 75 Sqn RAAF Port Moresby 1942.
1/72 Academy, the second of my Kittyhawks so far, I modified a few things, finished in Humbrol and MM enamels with Tamiya X22, + X21 over Aussie and Badger decals. Flown by Flt Lt Les Jackson DFC and Bar with 5 victories.
A very nice Warhawk and a beautiful flightline.
One of my favorite WWII fighters.
Thanks Bernd.
What Bernd said. 🙂 Love it. Go the RAAF.
Thanks Paul.
Looks like one of the "modifications" was the insertion of a brass tube and mount in order to get the prop to spin. Am I right...?
Seems to me there would have been an 'easier' solution (of course, I could be dead wrong in my assumption).
There could be an easier way, but this is how I like to do it, not so much to have it spin but removable for maintenance and strong !
Great build sir.
Thanks Robert.
Very nice - I too love the Warhawk - have two built and a third in the stash (same kit you just built). I'm sure I'll add more as I go... I like the diversity of your Warhawk line-up so far!
Thanks Greg.
Beautiful and silky smooth painted P-40. Very nice in small 1/72 scale. Rotating propellers are an obsession for me, as well as shark's teeth on P-40. One small Kittyhawk is waiting me in my stash ...
Thanks IT.
