I'm a retired Lieutenant Fire Fighter / EMT. Prior to working as a Firefighter, I also served in Law Enforcement for several years.
In following with our long line of family military service, dating all the way back to 1776, I'm a US Army veteran (tanker). I served mostly in the M-60A1 and eventually the M1-A1 series tanks. I was a crew member in the Abrams only for a short while.
My Dad was kind of like "Lt. Dan" from the movie Forrest Gump. Fortunately dear old Dad broke our "family curse" of having members killed in every major conflict that the United States has ever had. My Dad was wounded in the Korean War, and thankfully he was not killed. Otherwise I wouldn't be here if he was. I accidentally happened some years later...
My other hobbies include restoring old "Mopar" muscle cars from the late 1960's and early '70s. I also enjoy building aircraft in 1/48 & 1/32 scale, along with 1/35 Armor. I especially like the WW2 stuff. Lately I have been gravitating towards the First World War 1/32 scale aviation kits though...
I built my first model (Revell 1/32 P-40 "Flying Tigers" version) when I was 8 years old. I currently have about 700 kits ( of which about 1/4 are built).
This is the second part of the kit review as promised earlier. This portion will cover the plastic parts of this big 1/32 scale "early" Mustang D model.
Writing up a kit review is surprisingly easy. Now that Martin and his [...]
This kit review will be in two parts. Sadly this one is no longer being produced at the moment. All of the molds have been purchased by a new company when the parent company of Revell went bankrupt a little while ago, so hopefully it [...]
This is a model that I finished up a few days ago. It also happens to be my favorite Japanese fighter from the War. It's so elegant and streamlined... I call it the "Japanese Spitfire".
The Tamiya model fit together perfectly, [...]
This is an article that I have been meaning to post for quite some time now... My apologies for being so late with getting it done.
I built this model as part of a series of numerous Spitfire models for the 100 Years of the RAF Group [...]
I received these aftermarket instrument panels in the mail a few days ago, and wanted to do a quick review on them. I'll give you two guesses as to what my upcoming plans are for builds in the near future... 🙂
First up is the 1/32 [...]
As promised a while ago, here it is. This review would have been done a while ago, but "Life" tends to throw us curve balls every once in a while... When it does, try to make the best of it.
Here's the box art. It shows a HVSS [...]
Happy New Year everyone!
May this year be better than the last, and I wish us all success and health in our upcoming year. We had a lot of wonderful Group Builds that happened this year. To begin with we finished up the Year of the Cat. [...]
I want to start out by thanking Martin and his staff for hosting such a wonderful website where we can display our work. I also want to thank Paul Barber @yellow10 for coming up with a great idea to commemorate the 100 Years of Service [...]
I want to start out by saying "Thank You" to Paul Nash @white4freak for technical assistance, and Paul Barber @yellow10 for starting this great idea for a Group build to honor the RAF. Thank you also goes out to Martin and his [...]
Here's another one hot off the press at the "Iron Werks". I finished it up last night. It was inspired by one of Tom Bebout's @tom-bebout
wonderful Spitfire builds.
This kit is an older Tamiya release from way back in [...]
