I am a retired (recovering) lawyer and trying to pick up this hobby again after 40 years absence. I have both more time and patience than I did 40 years ago and it relaxes me to have a manual task. Plus I have always been fascinated with WWII aircraft and made my first models as a kid with white glue and without paint (my mom wouldn’t let me have paint after a few “accidents”). Other main interest is fly fishing, but modeling does not require a multi-hour drive.
This is a nice kit with no fit issues. I did fret over the track assembly but after watching 4 YouTube videos on assembling tracks they came together pretty well.
After looking at countless pictures online I went with a two color camo [...]
This was a nice easy kit with good fit and few issues. Cockpit is not very detailed so I built it closed.
After some searching I built approximating a plane from II/jg 1 “Oseau” as it was in late 1943 with red rudder, numerals, [...]
Went to my local air museum today to see a B 25 that was flown in. WWII combat plane. Got to go inside. Awesome. I’ve been in Two B 17s and a B 24 and now a B 25. Good day.
I wanted to build an early 1944 Normandy version in the Sherman (75mm gun) to go with the E8 version I built earlier. Surprised how many differences there are when compared side by side.
Kit was easy and not a single fit issue. All [...]
This Is a very easy model to assemble. Only a few issues. Decals were very good to apply.
This represents the 109E of Adolf Galland in France in August 1940 well before his Mickey Mouse marked planes. I found several online photos of [...]
This model is one of the Enterprise Dauntless at the Battle of Midway. Only my second Navy plane but since I purchased the Vallejo Air paint set for WWII naval I will be doing more. I have a Hellcat ready to go soon.
This was my first [...]
This was a great kit with excellent fit and detail. Many tiny fiddly parts in the interior so I decided to build open door version.
I was not too happy with camo pattern outcome so I weathered more than usual. Decals were excellent and I [...]
Only my second tank. All paint, primer and varnish are Vallejo. Easy build. I must have looked at 100s of photos of Panther camp and almost no two were the same. So I found one I preferred and went with that one. Fun to paint. I might [...]
I saw this old, classic kit and decided to give it a try. Glad I did, but not for the reasons I expected. This is my first post mainly because I have only picked up modeling again after a many decade absence and I don’t this k my [...]
