I have been building scale models for almost three decades. I had a longer break in the recent years, but I started to sort my stashed kits and decided to build a few of them - the leftover went to my friend’s son, he just started building models.

Polikarpov Po-2, ICM, Hungary, 1957-1959

The original... In the late 1980s and early 1990s, a short series of aviation history magazines were published in Hungary. The authors made an excellent summary of the Po-2 and its history in Hungarian use. Most of these biplanes were used [...]

Review: Just landed on my deskEduard 1/48 Trenér Limited Edition

Finally, I received my limited edition Zlin Z-226 kit, made by Eduard. I was among the very few modelers being excited about these kits. I remember the initial comments on modeling forums. Why does Eduard waste its valuable resources on a [...]

Harrier GR.3, 3 Sqn RAF, 1/72 Airfix

The XV809 I built this model back in 2019, nearly two years ago. The Harrier has been on my wish list for a very long time, and I finally bought one when Airfix released its new tool kits. I love the new Airfix releases, the designers [...]

Bf-109F-4 Royal Hungarian Air Force, 1943 (AZModel, 1:72)

This project was a “sanity keeper” - I needed a project to help me through some difficult times. I grabbed a random box from the stash and started a build. It was finished in two weeks. In 1942 the main fighter type of the Royal [...]

C4 Open 2018, Malmö, Sweden

Once again, Scandinavia’s friendliest model show opened its gates today.

LET L-13 Blaník, 1:72

More than 20 years ago, as teenager, I did my first glider flying lesson. I still remember the whole flight, we did it in the early evening, maybe one hour before sunset. The air was amazingly calm and we did not even had to touch the [...]

Trabant in turbulent times

A few years ago Revell released its new Trabant kit. It was a much better kit than their first version, released in the early nineties. According to urban legends, a few Revell employees drove to the former GDR right after the [...]
