1/72 scale aircraft ww2 - present, mostly military.
Another of my 2020 builds, this is the Academy F-8E built again straight from the box with the included decals, which are OK but not great. White is Revell SM301 and gull grey is Model Master.
Another straight OOB build, using the kit decals which performed well. I pre-shaded the model with a dark grey, and then airbrushed Revell SM301 semi-gloss white in thin coats gradually until I got the desired fade effect. Now I think that [...]
This is the Airfix Sea Harrier FA2, kit no. A04052 in 1/72 scale. Built OOB with the kit decals. It one of the few kits of the Harrier in 1/72 scale that has the dropped in auxiliary intakes included with the kit parts.
Another not so easy kit, this time from Amodel. As usual the fuselage of such a large subject is divided in three pieces lengthwise, and the Amodel instructions tell you to assemble the halves together then assemble the 3 sections to each [...]
This is the Modelsvit Beriev Be-12PS built straight from the box with one of the decal options that come with it. It is not an easy build, as any Modelsvit large plane is. However the subject for me is a very interesting aircraft, that [...]
Built straight from the box, with kit decals. Although quite an od kit, and may lack some detail by today's standards, it is still a very nice and easy build.
Another kit from the newer Airfix moulds. Builds nicely, only problem is the very thick dayglo decals. I had to airbrush the leading edges as the decals wouldn't go over the curvature, and mixed several mixes but couldn't get the exact [...]
Built straight out of the box. As reported everywhere, fitting the cockpit and front undercarriage bay needs some cutting and modifying. Apart from that, the build goes on very smoothly. Colours are as instructed by Airfix with their [...]
Airfix's new mould Vampire trainer, built OOB with kit decals. Very nice little kit needing only a little filler around the intakes (As usual!). Dayglo is from Model Master (Testor's).
Revell's quite recent kit of the F4U-4 which has some short cuts and emmisions due to being offered as both an F4U-1 and F4U-4. I didn't bother with most of the inaccuracies and built the kit mostly out of the box. The overall shape [...]
