Carry on with the weathering, Cricket @bikequeen, you’ve obviously got a feel for it, how about a ripped and patched up seat.

Our 4 day fundraiser was a bust…the first day was good, the second it rained 3rd and 4th was just to cold….oh well. Now that that is out of the way and I’m winding down a bit I did some more weathering today not much still bunches more to go.

    Added the License tag
tried to rust the rotors…im not happy with it…so back to the drawing board with that
Lost the lens for the gauges so I made one, the decals went on perfectly….figures, so I had figure a way to mess it up :). I sprayed it lightly with clear orange from about an 18 inch distance come out really good
Bent and scuffed the left side handlebars and hit it with flat clear
Mauled a paint brush so I could use it for stippling : )

Thats about it for today….been unseasonably cold (mid 20’s, which is very cold for here this time of year) the last few mornings but the weekend should be a bit warmer. Anyway….enjoy : )

When you look at the photos, it is hard to believe this isn't a full-size bike. Well done, Cricket (@bikequeen). My weathering brushes get that way just from use and abuse. Here in central Texas, we just set two records lowest temp for this date, now we expect to set a couple of records for the highest temp on this date. That's why everyone is sick...can't figure out what clothes to wear.

Hey, Cricket @bikequeen, your weathering techniques are getting better and better. As for the weather, it’s 7:30 am as I’m writing this and the temperature is -2C, that’s about 29F, I so appreciate underfloor heating. Happy modelling.

@chinesegeorge Thanks other George ; ). I’m learning as I go along…doesn’t look good at first then after awhile I kind like it.

    It was 27 here at 7:30 this morning……UGH 🙂

Looking nicely weathered, my friend @bikequeen. Loved the faded/yellowed instrument cover, among others. Here it is still warm, around 57F in the morning and 73 at noon, all good.

Your weathering approach is impressive, Cricket @bikequeen
Love the way you attached that license plate with that tiny thread.
How did you get that twisted so nicely.

@fiveten thanks Spiros! I’m having fun with it! And regarding weather…that’s because you live in paradise….show off 🙂

@johnb Thanks John! It’s a tiny wire. I just twisted it with my fingers, tightened it up with needle nose pliers cut some off and unwound a bit. The plate is actually glued on, the wire was just for effect 🙂

Some more progress today…a bit excessive I think but fun none the less ; ). Only one side done haven’t really touched the other side yet. I have the fuel tank and cowlings ready to go….then some tiny touch up parts and some more pastel to be added 🙂

Not excessive, Cricket (@bikequeen), but a perfect replica of a bike that has been in a barn or garage for a while. I told you when you started that once you get bitten by the weathering bug that it is hard to go back. Looks awesome.
