Having double ordered Airfix's new 1/48 scale Spitfire XII & Seafire XVII & completed one of each with a great deal of satisfaction, I wondered what to do with the second pair of kits that would be more interesting than doing the same a[...]
Not a very good year modelling-wise with only three kits finished. The fact that two of them are very small doesn't make it more impressive either!
So here we go, two MiG-21s from Eduard in 1/144 scale. One Slovak one in the "Milka"-scheme whil[...]
Having cut my plactic modelling teeth on Airfix, I am delighted to see them coming back strongly with a whole range of superb models. As something different from a diet of F-15s, 16s, 18s, F-4s, Mustangs & Messerschmitts (which I love - trul[...]
This is a ten day wonder. It is the Airfix 1/48 scale kit, and took me about 14 hours total over 10 days. The personal markings are home made as is the aircraft ID. Under the tail is my brother-in-laws birthday as the civilian ID number, and [...]
What I love about these new tooled Airfix kits are the simplicity and directness of the design of models. This one was built OOB. The decals work reasonably well given the price paid for the kit and are way better than some more of the up scal[...]
Here is my attempt at reproducing the magnificent E.E Lightning F.1. The "Frightning" as it was often called by it's pilots, is one of my all time fav jets.
This is the Airfix 1/48 kit which is probably the most accurate F.1 around, but not easy[...]
Not the most sophisticated kit nor the most accurate. However, if your on a budget or your buying for a youngster or need a simple straight build that doesn't take months this is a good kit to buy. Some folks don't care for the engraved panels l[...]
My latest Spitfire. It's an Airfix 1/48 kit. Completed about a month ago using Humbrol enamels and an old Eaglestrike sheet for the Rhodesian markings. I never get tired of Spitfires!
Hi everyone !!
This is the Airfix kit (reboxed by Eduard) with Aires engine set and cockpit set. I also used Eduard´s flaps and Quickboost´s cannon barrels. The canopy from a kit was too thick and scratched so I replaced it by new one from Falco[...]
My first completed model in 30 years, it's not 100% accurate and I've yet to add the aerial but I'm happy with how it turned out.
Airfix 1:48 club Me109 kit with Eduard PE and after market decals, airbrushed with Humbrol enamels.
