Trumpeter 1/350 HMS Hood

November 27, 2012 · in Ships · · 3 · 2.5K

So, what do you do when you haven't built a ship model since you were in Junior High School (back in the early Triassic)? Why, go out and get one of the most complicated kits ever, get all the photoetch possible, and dive right in! This sort of reminds me of building my first biplanes when I was too young to know they were hard. Still one of the most impressive models in my growing collection of ships (if you're getting bored with all the airplanes, try a ship - they're fun). I personally like the fact that I am not a "Subject Matter Expert" so I can just build the model and be impressed with it and not have to nitpick it to death.

  1. Nice work. The rigging really finishes it off. Ships always look naked to mr with out the wires strung between the masts. Ships are fun to build, aren't they. Nice change from tracks and wings. Keep up the excellent builds.

  2. This is the best model of this kit I've seen. Greta work, and you should build more ships!
