This is the AMT/ERTL1/48 scale Curtiss P-40N Warhawk. The markings represent a P-40N from the 35th Fighter Squadron, 8th Fighter Group operating in New Guinea during 1944.
Bill I've built several of these AMT/ERTL kits and enjoyed everyone as well. Have not found the P-40N yet but I'll keep looking at shows. That's a nice looking P-40 and I love the highwat direction sign as an added touch.
Nice model - one thing I pass along: run a thin line of white glue around the base of windscreens once glued in position, and you will lose that annoying seam line that shouldn't be there.
