AMT 1/48 P-40N

March 8, 2015 · in Aviation · · 11 · 1.7K

So my grandson and I are at the Lunken Airport open house last spring and we're watching the B-17 Aluminum Overcast giving rides. And wouldn't you know it some of the folks selling souvenirs that day also have some models to sell. I hate when that happens because my stash doesn't seem to get any smaller. Well for $10 I took her home and here she sits. The old line from really aren't bad kits in my opinion. Added an Ultracast seat, some True Details wheels, Tamiya and Model Master paints from rattle cans and Eagle Strike decals. Brush on some pastel chalk for exhaust and powder stains and we're done. This A/C represents a P-40N flown by Capt Raymond Calloway from Liangshan, China. Gotta love P-40"s with shark teeth.
